Lead Designer, Principal
Ellen Kavanaugh has been practicing interior design in Palm Beach for more than 10 years. Her style is versatile and emphasizes crisp color palettes, comfortable textures, and individual aesthetic. With every project, Ellen aspires to marry architecture and interiors by selecting distinct finishes, designing custom details, and sourcing unique furnishings.
Ellen earned her interior design degree in 2004 from Florida State University and became a licensed designer after completing the National Certification for Interior Designer’s Qualification Exam.
She has solidified relationships with Palm Beach’s most reputable design, building, and architecture professionals and has developed partnerships with both domestic and international craftsmen who build custom furniture and light fixtures for that special one of a kind touch. A layered interior is created for each client with Ellen’s passion for integrating in antique and vintage pieces.
Her interior design career began with one of Palm Beach’s leading interior design firms. She then was appointed the “in house” interior designer for a top Palm Beach Architectural firm where she absorbed architectural principles in which she carries into her interiors.
In 2015, Ellen Kavanaugh Interiors opened. The company is based in the heart of Palm Beach on Peruvian Avenue. Her work includes recently completed projects in Palm Beach, The Hamptons and New York City.
Ellen is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers. Her work has been featured in House Beautiful, Traditional Home, Coastal Living, Luxe Magazine, Flower and Southern Home. She has also been featured in local Palm Beach publications including her room for the Kips Bay Show House Palm Beach and has received recognition in Veranda and Architectural Digest. In 2018 Ellen Kavanaugh Interiors received the Luxe Red Award for the best bathroom design in the southeast. She was honored to also receive the 2020 Addison Mizner Award for Interior Design, given by the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art.
Madison’s career started at EKI in 2015 after graduating from Adrian College with a double major in interior design and business administration. Her passion for design started at a young age while watching her dad build beautiful homes. She works directly with clients, architects, contractors & vendors throughout the design process to create a seamless transition from design inspiration to final install. In her free time, you can find her spending time with family in Charlevoix, MI or on the lake at Camp Foley with her husband, Peter, in Minnesota.
Liz joins the EKI design team with a passion for creating a home that excites and fills the needs of her clients. She has a keen ability to listen and understand what the client is hoping to accomplish. With her excellent eye for furniture placement and love for accessorizing she leaves the completed look. Her organizational skills, constant communication and honesty keep her clients in the know and her projects moving along efficiently. Her love for her family carries over to her love of her job.
Junior Interior Designer
Camille found a passion for interior design at a young age, many of her childhood memories include visiting her dad’s construction sites and dreaming of what the spaces could be. She recently graduated from Auburn University’s prestigious Interior Design Program and joined the EKI team first as an intern and now as a design assistant. She eagerly helps the designers with procurement and timeline management on a day to day basis. Outside of the office, you can find Camille playing with her labradoodle, Suzy or traveling with family.
EKI Bookkeeping & Casa Kingsley Product Development Manager
Molly joined EKI in May 2019 after moving to Palm Beach from Darien, Connecticut. She worked in banking at JP Morgan in New York City for 5 years prior to staying home to raise her four children. She manages the financial aspects of Ellen Kavanaugh Interiors and is the product development manager for Casa Kingsley. Outside of the office, Molly enjoys playing tennis, running, going to the beach and spending time with her family and their yellow lab, Gus!
Aside from raising her three daughters, Sandy’s 27 year professional career was managing a world-class professional women’s tennis tournament which when concluded was the 2nd longest running professional tournament world-wide. She was then tapped to become the Director of the Ponte Vedra Beach Chamber of Commerce where she engaged in business management, education and development. Upon her retirement, Sandy and Ellen brought to fruition Ellen’s dream of opening her own design firm. Sandy serves as Company Consultant.
